Join us this winter to help families and communities thrive

December 9, 2022

My name is Syretta, and I am the manager of Neighborhood House’s High Point preschool in West Seattle. In addition to providing young children with high quality early childhood education, my job is to make sure entire families get what they need to live longer, happier, and healthier lives. Sometimes, this looks like partnering with West Seattle Food Bank to sign up families for free food deliveries. Other times, it looks like connecting families to free sports camps or rock-climbing classes, thanks to our partnership with Seattle Housing Authority.

In all cases, we know that no single organization alone can do the work of solving poverty. We invite you to join us in our collaborative effort to create a world where all families and communities can thrive. Here are some ways you can help this month:

1. Make a monetary donation to Neighborhood House or West Seattle Food Bank to support low-income, BIPOC, and immigrant & refugee families.

2. Donate food to West Seattle Food Bank. See food donation information here

3. Donate new, unused clothes to Neighborhood House High Point. We have needs for gloves, hats, socks, underwear (for children under 5), and jackets. Contact me (syrettaw@nhwa.org or 206.483.9390) if you have questions about clothing donations. Household supplies like diapers, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper are also helpful.

4. Volunteer at Winter Wonderland! On December 21, Neighborhood House will host a Winter Wonderland event for families in the High Point community. We need volunteers to help with tasks such as distributing toys, carrying food boxes to cars, and face painting. Contact me (syrettaw@nhwa.org or 206.483.9390) to sign up to volunteer.

We are grateful for your support. Happy holidays!
