Introducing our newest location in Renton!

October 23, 2020

We are happy to announce that the new Sunset Neighborhood Center in Renton officially opened its doors on October 12!

The center will host numerous social service agencies, including tenants from Neighborhood House, along with HealthPoint, Valley Cities, and St. Vincent de Paul.

Neighborhood House first got involved in this project in 2016 when the Renton Housing Authority (RHA) purchased a former library in the Sunset neighborhood to renovate into a multi-service center. We partnered with RHA and the City of Renton in this opportunity to bring educational, health, and human services to the residents of the neighborhood.

Neighborhood House has a long history of place-based services, and has been the leader of the capital campaign in order to renovate the new center. Since construction began in February 2020, the building has been transformed into a LEED-certified, community-centered facility.

The Sunset Neighborhood Center began serving the community on October 12 through our partners at HealthPoint. Other providers, including Neighborhood House, will begin delivering services as soon as it is safe to do so (due to COVID-19). We will be providing multilingual and multicultural Aging & Disability Services through the new Renton location.

There will be a virtual grand opening celebration on Tuesday, October 27 from 12-1 pm, which will include remarks from myself, Executive Director Janice Deguchi as well as Renton Mayor Armondo Pavone. You are invited to join the celebration, which will be live streamed on the City of Renton’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/CityofRenton.

We look forward to working with communities in Renton and increasing access to opportunity.
