Social Emotional

MONDAY ACTIVITIES

The Lion Inside – This is an activity to teach your child about how to be courageous. There are many times we might not feel brave and courageous in life and sometimes that might stop us from doing things. This is a great topic to discuss with your child. Watch this video about a brave little mouse an afterward discuss with your child how sometimes it might feel hard to speak up but in the end for the mouse it was worth it. Ask your child about a time they were scared about doing something and how that made them feel, ask them what they can try next time in that situation that might help them feel a little more courageous.

Graphics Practice – This activity can help kids learn to write so they can get stronger with writing letters, numbers and shapes! This also can build self-regulation as you play some classical music along with the practice. When you pause the music, your child STOPS writing and shows you their progress! This week work ask your child to draw a picture of “donut” when you are drawing shape you can say “around and close” for each circle. Encourage your child to make the donuts with enough space around them so they are not touching.

Five little ducks went out one day

Over the hill and far away

Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”

But only four little ducks came back

One, two, three, four

Four little ducks went out one day

Over the hill and far away

Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”

But only three little ducks came back

One, two, three

Three little ducks went out one day

Over the hill and far away

Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”

But only two little ducks came back

One, two

Two little ducks went out one day

Over the hill and far away

Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”

But only one little duck came back

One

One little duck went out one day

Over the hill and far away

Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”

But none of the five little ducks came back

Sad mother duck went out one day

Over the hill and far away

Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”

And all of five little ducks came back

Five little ducks went out to play

Over the hill and far away

Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack”

And all of the five little ducks came back!
