Nadifa

My name is Nadifa Yusuf and I am a mother from Somalia. I have been taking care of children for 30 years, starting with my own children. My family and I came to America as refugees. Then I took care of my children until they became adults. As they left the home, I wanted to still take care of children so I wanted to get a job in that field. Somali is my first language and English is my second, so, it was difficult in the beginning. But I love taking care of children and I wanted my career to be about children. I went to Highline to get my degree in Early Childhood Education. Then, I started working in the field in 2016. Now, I work at Neighborhood House since 2019 and I have been enjoying every minute since.
