Housing. Education. Health. Economic Opportunity.
For over 119 years, Neighborhood House has been a lifeline to our neighbors.
M reached out to Neighborhood House because she was facing eviction, in addition to other hardships. A domestic violence survivor, she was getting back to work and had 3 school age children that were not enrolled in school. Neighborhood House advised M that in order to qualify for help from our Student Family Stability Initiative program the children needed to be enrolled in the school system and explained the benefits of doing so. Neighborhood House assisted the family in enrolling in the Tukwila school district and we were able to assist M with rental assistance, preventing their eviction and helping them maintain stable housing.
This is just one of many examples of how federal funds, in this case from Housing and Urban Development administered by King County Housing Authority, made a difference in not just M’s life but also that of her three children. The Student Family Stability Initiative is a short-term intervention that prevented an entire family from becoming homeless and put the M and her children on a path to stability and success.

Please join us on April 30th at Town Hall Seattle to learn more about Neighborhood House and support neighbors like M!
