Join the Neighborhood House Board

Do you envision a community free of poverty and racism, where all people thrive? Do you see yourself helping to make that happen?

Neighborhood House is currently seeking new members for our dynamic Board of Directors!

Neighborhood House is a Community Action Agency that builds community and increases access to housing, health, education, and economic opportunity. We provide early learning, youth development, employment, housing stability, community health, and aging and disability services to immigrants, refugees, and low-income people in South Seattle and South King County.

As the governing body of Neighborhood House, the Board of Directors carries tremendous responsibility for determining the scope and direction of the organization. In this essential volunteer role, you provide oversight and strategic direction to the agency, and serve as a link to the community.

We are seeking individuals with lived experience relevant to the communities we serve, leadership experience, or active and ongoing community involvement. You must also have the ability and desire to learn about the work of the agency, and to be positive ambassadors of Neighborhood House!

Board Members commit 3-6 hours of service per month, including attending regularly-scheduled monthly meetings. Most standard monthly meetings are virtual, with occasional in-person meetings throughout the year. Low-income Board Members can receive support for childcare and transportation or other accessibility needs.
