News from Neighborhood House:
My name is Martha Dominguez, and I am from Mexico. My home language is Spanish; I have been working at Neighborhood House for two years. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2012.
I enjoy working with children because every day is different. I get the opportunity to play with them, use their imagination and curiosity through play. We laugh together and learn from each other in school. One of my passions is to see the children’s artwork; and how they see the world through it. My second passion is to make a classroom inclusive, inviting, and pleasant for everyone that enters it.
Lastly, I like building relationships with the families because often, I find many cultural similarities. I realized many parents, and myself coming to this country have similar goals. We want our children to thrive, get a good education, be empathetic and respectful, maintain their home language, and make a difference in the world, because they are the future.
