Hello Parents,

What a year it has been!  As I think back over the past 12 months, I am so thankful for each of you and all the work you did to make our class successful and help your child learn this year!  Being a parent of a preschooler is no small task, but being a parent of a preschooler during a worldwide pandemic makes you a true hero!  Thank you so much for all you’ve contributed to our class this year.

Last week was our last week of classes for the summer.  As we wave good-bye to those going to kindergarten we send them off with happy wishes for their new adventure!  For those returning to preschool in the fall, I will be in touch to let you know the schedule as I get the information.

END OF YEAR SELF PORTRAIT!

You just finished a year of preschool and, for some of you,it was your LAST year of preschool because you are going to kindergarten!  Today, draw a picture of yourself so you remember what you look like on your last day of preschool!   Don’t forget to use colors and draw the clothes you have on too!

Problem Solving

30 minutes

Use your playdough to roll out three snakes.

Make one very long snake.

Make one medium long snake.

Make one short snake.

Now get your tape measure and measure each snake.  Write on a piece of paper how many inches long each snake is.

Social Emotional

A note from Teacher Laura:

I had so much fun being your teacher this year and I think each one of you are so very wonderful!  For those of you going to kindergarten, I will miss you very much and will smile whenever I think of you.  For those returning to preschool in the fall, I will see you soon!  For all of you, I will be mailing out your “Shining Star” award this week!

This is a song I wrote and it is all about you.  https://vimeo.com/566752337

Here are the words if you want to sing along:

        A SHINGING STAR

What a year we’ve had to work and play!

I’ve watched you grow and learn every day.

And now that we’ve come to the end of the year,

There’s something I want to say and I want you to hear.

You are magnificent!      A Shining Star!

I’m proud of you!         You’ve come so far!

I knew you were special right from the start,

And you’ll always, always, always have a place in my heart.
