Message from Teacher Negyat:
Our June Parent meeting will be Tuesday June 22nd at 3:30. Please mark your calendars and join us on zoom. We hope to see you there!
Language / Literacy
Listen to, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. After reading this book you can act out your favorite part. You can make a hamburger storm with play do or make sandwich boats with blocks. Have fun pretending with this fun book!
Movement / Play
If You’re a Monster and You Know It: Book Video –
This book is similar to the song, “If you’re happy and you know it”. We know that we express our happiness through voice and movement so let’s sing and play with Teacher Selena and see the different type of movements monsters do throughout the book!
Language / Literacy
Listen to Michelle Obama read There’s a Dragon in Your Book. This book will have your family acting along to all the movements in this book.
Math / Science
Magnetic Activity – This is a fun activity to do with kids to explore science. With the magnet wand from our supply box, collect some items around the house with your child to find out which items are magnetic and which items are not magnetic. You can also label them as it shows in the picture. Have your child test out each item and don’t forget to have fun! Make sure you are extra careful with the magnets around technology like phones, tablets, TVs or computers; a magnet can ruin the screen on these devices.
Language / Literacy
Listen to The King of Kindergarten! Some of you will be going to kindergarten in the fall. It may not look just like his first day of Kindergarten but some of the things will be similar. Talk to your child about what their first day of kindergarten may look like.
Art / Writing
Go on a walk with your child and find different color flowers. As you walk you can take pictures of the flowers to draw them when you return home.
Encourage your child to add color and details to their picture. Ask your child about their picture and write one sentence about it together. Ask your child to write the lines and you can help write the words on the lines when they are done.
