Week June 14-18 Learning Resource
Message from your teachers!
Welcome to this week’s Learning Resource! Hard to believe it’s already halfway through June!! Summer is almost officially upon us, which means lots more sunshine!
A couple of quick announcements:
– Thursday 6/17/2021 at 3:30PM is our monthly parent meeting! We will be celebrating the school year so far and how far we’ve all come since we last saw each other!
– President Biden has announced a big push for as many adults to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as possible! If you have questions about getting the vaccine, you can contact your healthcare provider. You may also contact your teacher if you need help finding a vaccine site!
As always, if you ever need anything or have questions/concerns, please contact your teacher! We are always here for you.
Our four program-wide expectations are Be Courageous, Be Curious, Be Compassionate, Be A Community. This week we will focus on how children can Be Compassionate
We are Compassionate when we…
- Offer to help someone
- Cheer someone up
- Support others
- Listen to how others are feeling
- Listen to different ideas
In this week’s Learning Resource, you’ll find an activity to help your child learn about Being Compassionate! Let us know how it went!

Sing along to the song or sing it on your own with your child. Try different movements when replacing the letters in B-I-N-G-O, like jumping, clapping, patting shoulders! (The song link included comes with different movements, too!)

Parents, this activity helps young children with their fine motor skills, by folding paper it increases their dexterity in fingers and hands.

- Fold the wings down to meet the bottom edge of the planes body.
- All done! Great Job

Be a Friend to Frogs
Click the link below and read about or listen to a book about frogs. When you are finished, let your child use crayons or markers to draw a home for frogs. Talk about colors of the frogs home and write some words your child says to tell about his or her picture.

Movement / Play
This is My Garden : Finger Rhyme Song
Sing to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”
This is my garden,
(extend palm of hand facing up)
I’ll rake it with care,
(rake palm with 3 fingers of the other hand)
And then some flower seeds,
(plant pretend seeds on palm)
I’ll plant there.
The sun will shine,
(circular action with other hand)
And the rain will fall,
(fingers flutter down)
And my garden will blossom,
And grow straight and tall.
(cup hands and ‘grow’ fingers upwards like flowers)
