Hello Parents,

Parents I want to encourage you to remember to read with your child every day. Studies show that early reading is directly linked to success in school!  It’s also a great relationship builder and creates together time.  Even a little bit of reading every day makes a big difference!

Practice making upper case and lower case G.

Make 10 upper case and 10 lower case letters. If you want extra work, practice writing these words that start with the letter g:   go   good   get   grape  got

Problem Solving

Copy these numbers onto a piece of paper:

1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8  9  10

11  12  13  14  15  16  17  18  18  20

21  22  23  24  25

Now practice counting out loud.  How far can you count without looking at the numbers.  Have your mom or dad listen and see how for you can count.

Can you find 3 times to say “thank you” today?

Who made your lunch?  Did you say “thank you?”

Who helped you so you could see this newsletter?  Did you say “thank you?”

Who else can you say thank you to today?

Movement / Play

FAMILY HIDE AND SEEK

Try a family game of HIDE and SEEK.  This is a great game indoors or out.

One person covers their eyes and counts while the others hide.

CHANGE IT UP:  The one covering her eyes doesn’t have to only count numbers!  Other ideas are:

  1. Sing the ABC song two times (with eyes closed)
  2. Clap their hands ___ times. 50? 30? 20? (with eyes closed)
  3. Do 50 jumping jacks (eyes open for safety, turn back to other players)
