Resource: The Seattle Public Library is slowly opening up some libraries for limited in-building services. The Seattle Public Library will be offering limited services inside the Beacon Hill, Lake City and Southwest Branches, starting April 27, 2021. Buildings will operate at 25% capacity for 90 minute time blocks on Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m. A limited number of computers with internet access will be available for you to use with a two-hour usage limit per day. You may also print, scan or copy up to 10 free black and white pages per day to pick up inside open buildings.

Art / Writing
Venger Drawing – One activity we often do in class is drawing a picture out of a shape, we call this “Venger Drawings.” Draw a square shape on a piece of paper and ask your child to turn that shape into something new
Social Emotional
Encourage your child to be independent with self-help skills such as picking out own clothes, dressing themselves, brushing own teeth, and cleaning up own toys.

Math / Science
Counting the Calendar: It’s a new Month!! Have your child count the days in MAY 1-31. Point to random numbers and ask what this number is? Have child Jump or clap the
Adding and subtracting
Use items in your household to help child add or subtract small numbers. For example, get 5 small oranges ask child if I take 1 of these away how many will I have. For more advanced children have your child work on bigger numbers such as 10-8=2
Language / Literacy
Walk and Discover: Go on a walk with your child. Search for letters all around. For example, on buildings, signs, license plates
Read a book to your child or have child read a book to you. Ask your child questions about the book such as “What part of the story did you like” “what would you do if..”
Letter Scavenger Hunt Find Items in your house or outside that begin with the Letter V
