Language / Literacy
Listen to A Pet for Pete: Listen along as Teacher Christina reads you a story about Pete’s new Pet! Use the password in the email to open the link.
Busy People: Vet by Lucy M. George. Mike the vet takes care of pets and farm animals.
Read Sally Goes to the Vet by Stephen Huneck. Sally the dog gets injured while playing in the yard and her family takes her to the veterinarian.
I spy: Play this fun game in the house or in the car. You need at least 2 players for this game but more can play. One person starts by saying “ I spy with my little eye something (color)” Then the other players take turns guessing what the item is. Example “ I spy with my little eye something blue” players “ is it the chair?”
Art / Writing
Look at the picture below together and talk about some of the things that could happen at the vet. What do you notice? It looks like the dog has a broken leg. The rabbits got out of their cage. What should we pretend the problem is? Have them choose what role they would like to pretend and what they will do. Then your child can draw that plan in their journal. Support them to write what they will play today.
Math / Science
Building and Counting: Build a tower with blocks, counting each block as you stack it. Encourage your child to try building a tower. Ask, “How many blocks do you think you can stack before it falls down?” Encourage your child to count while stacking. Once the tower falls, restate the total number of blocks that were in the tower. Challenge your child to build a taller tower the next time!
